Dr Tamara Turnbull

Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

Meet Tamara, her Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.

Tamara is best described as incredibly efficient and has a caring and compassionate nature. She holds over a decade of experience in public and private practice and has completed a 12-month fellowship in gynae-oncology and advanced laparoscopic surgery.

Tamara works across all areas of pregnancy, from low-risk pregnancy and birth to high-risk and pre-term deliveries, and has vast experience through her ongoing work at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Her specialties include endometriosis, pelvic pain, menorrhagia, prolapse and treating large fibroids.

Growing up in rural South Australia, Tamara has a soft spot for rural and regional care. And while she is passionate about all aspects of women’s health and says that every day is fulfilling in its own way, she feels especially empathetic toward young women living with endometriosis. The ability to make a positive and lasting impact on the trajectory of their lives gives her a great sense of accomplishment and pride.

When not at work, Tamara can often be found moving and shaking as a professional dancer for the Strikers. She’s also an off-road motoring enthusiast and regularly partakes in the annual Finke Desert Race as a navigator.
