Dr Magdalena Halt

General and Surgical Gynaecologist

Meet Magdalena (Magda), her General and Surgical Gynaecologist.

We describe Magda as approachable, friendly and thorough.

Magda’s goal is to make gynaecology more accessible and less daunting for her patients. She enjoys empowering women to improve their health outcomes and advancing the awareness and provision of care for women’s health generally.

Magda completed her medical and surgical training in Melbourne and Adelaide, including advanced laparoscopic training at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She has a background in research, which helps her interpret new research and apply novel and existing therapies.

While she enjoys all aspects of her role, Magda has a particular interest in keyhole (minimally invasive) surgery, excision and medical treatment of endometriosis and other causes of pelvic pain, urogynaecology and pelvic organ prolapse. She is also an accredited robotic surgeon. She utilises Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols in her practice and participates in the multi-disciplinary management of complex conditions such as persistent pelvic pain and pelvic floor disorders.

In addition to her role at her, Magda is a staff specialist with the Central Adelaide Local Health Network, teaching trainee obstetricians and gynaecologists. Magda volunteers her time on a number of projects, including teaching and performing surgery in low-resource countries. As an elected councillor, she represents obstetricians and gynaecologists from SA and NT, on the federal RANZCOG Council. She participates in a number of specialty Committees aimed at improving the quality of O&G training and access to care for women and girls across Australia.

When not at her, Magda can be found hiking, reading or listening to live music. She welcomes new patients and looks forward to providing continuity of care and a positive working relationship for women at all stages of life.
