Dr Casie Staehr
Obstetrician and Gynaecologist
Meet Casie, her Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.
Casie can best be described as a genuine soul who has the ability to make everyone around her feel appreciated and cared for. She’s honest, hardworking and dedicated to helping women achieve their optimal health to enable them to be the best version of themselves.
Specialising in all aspects of obstetric care, Casie covers high-risk obstetrics, pre-pregnancy planning (including optimising and preserving fertility with the management of endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome), management and treatment of endometriosis, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, prolapse, advanced laparoscopic surgery including hysterectomy, abnormal cervical screening and colposcopy.
Since graduating from the University of Adelaide in 2005, Casie has built up over 16 years of experience in medicine; 14 years working in her field and five years as a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist. She’s also spent time in Dublin, Ireland where she worked as a research sonographer, gaining invaluable experience in fetal ultrasound. She currently also holds a position as a visiting medical officer at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
When not at her, Casie enjoys travel, fitness, tennis, home cooking and reading. She’s looking forward to moving into the new house she’s just purchased with partner Dr Michael France and making it a home for their five children! Michael is a Bariatric surgeon at Ashford Hospital and the couple have had the joy of sharing several patients who they have both operated on to help achieve optimal fertility. This has resulted in several healthy pregnancies and there are several more on the way! Casie loves spending time with her daughters who she describes as expert obstetricians in training! Questions like ‘how dilated is she mummy?’ and ‘is it her first baby or second?’ are common in Casie’s household.
