FAQs

  • What does an obstetric physician do?

An obstetric physician is a medical specialist who cares for women with medical concerns during pregnancy. This can include helping manage existing health conditions, new complications that arise during pregnancy, or situations where extra monitoring and specialist input are needed. At Her Health, Dr Sagun Banjade’s work centres on calm, evidence-based care for women with complex pregnancies.
  • What can I see Dr Sagun Banjade for?

Dr Sagun Banjade is an obstetric physician with training in both obstetric medicine and general medicine. Women may see her for support when pregnancy is affected by broader medical concerns, or when they need more considered care through a high risk pregnancy. Her approach is grounded in helping women feel informed, supported and genuinely heard throughout their care.
  • When might I need to see a pregnancy physician in Adelaide?

Some women are referred to a pregnancy physician in Adelaide when they have a pre-existing medical condition, while others are referred because something new has developed during pregnancy that needs closer assessment. In either case, the aim isn’t to make pregnancy feel more overwhelming, but to provide careful, personalised medical support at the right time.
  • Does seeing an obstetric physician mean my pregnancy is high risk?

Not always, but it often means some extra medical input would be helpful. In some cases, that may relate to a high risk pregnancy; in others, it may simply mean your care team wants specialist advice to help monitor or manage a condition well. Good care should leave you feeling clearer and better supported, not alarmed.
  • What is Dr. Sagun Banjade’s approach to care?

Sagun provides a calm, considered and evidence-based style of care. She places strong value on therapeutic relationships and believes compassionate, personalised support is especially important during pregnancy, particularly when the experience feels uncertain, vulnerable or more medically complex than expected.
