Meet Briony, her Bub and Beyond Specialist, offering services across Lactation consulting, Mental health, unsettled infant behaviours and infant sleep

Briony can best be described as a straight-shooter. She’s super organised and always compassionate.

Briony’s specialty is caring for women and their children. She offers breastfeeding medicine support, help with unsettled babies and evidence-based advice around infant sleep called the ‘Possums Sleep Program’. She also works in the area of perinatal mental health. 

Briony is passionate about fostering nurturing environments in which families thrive. She worries that women and babies are not always managed well by the current health care system and frequently fall through the cracks. Often not seen as a ‘pair’, and instead separated by different medical specialties. Briony seeks to bridge this gap and help the mother-baby pair thrive regardless of what issues they may be having. The reward for Briony, walking alongside families as she helps guide and care for them, especially in that first year. 

Briony earned her degree from the University of Adelaide in 2006 and has since furthered her qualifications with a FRACGP, DRANZCOG Adv and IBCLC; now practicing as a GP Obstetrician and lactation consultant. In addition to her role with her, Briony delivers babies as a GP Obstetrician at Mt Barker Hospital and consults to Mt Barker/Balhannah Medical Centre and Belair Medical.

When not at her, Briony can usually be found wearing one of her many other work hats. But when time permits she enjoys time in the kitchen, working out (over Zoom with her PT) and spending time with friends and her two children.
